Mylar balloons always felt so weird. On one hand, they're all futuristic, the crumple of plastic with the shine of metal, a careful seam and the ability to create any shape with anything printed on it.. but on the other hand, a good old-fashioned honest rubber balloon has bounce. Even after it's lost its helium (or if it never had any) it's still fun to play around with, putting the little knot between your fingers and bouncing it on your fist, playing really slow volleyball with someone... mylar can't compete with that. it's just an elaborate greeting card. and you can't refill it later, either.
